13th July 2024 - A free community event for the public

Liquorice Shoots takes place in Pontefract town centre and features an outdoor craft fair, a dog show, live entertainment on stage, children’s rides and character parade all set in the Pontefract town centre.

On the day a briefing will take place at 7:30am for marshals who will be supporting stall holders with car access. Free breakfast sandwich and coffee available.

  • We need help in the following areas.
  • Marshalling the stall holders and guiding to stalls at different part of the town
  • Stage set up gazebo erection involving some lifting.
  • Marshalling the character Parade and possible opportunities to be dressed as a character in the parade from 11am to 1pm
  • Help in take down and vehicle marshalling for exiting vehicles 3pm to 5pm

We would welcome help for all or part of the day. Refreshments and changing/toilet facilities will be available to all volunteers supporting this event.

Expenses

Our Year will reimburse volunteers up to £5 in travel expenses per day
